NetStumbler force what other applications try to do nicely. On many occasions, when we use a wireless network or Wi-Fi a program will be installed together with the network card to allow us to connect and manage the data transfer, nevertheless, it is usual for these tools not to work properly and that they don't find networks or connect properly. NetStumbler is a tool that hasn't been developed to make things easier, but it is more functional.

  Compatible with 802.11b, 802.11a and 802.11g networks, NetStumbler detects all the possible networks to show their data, locate networks that may be interfering with ours, measure the the transfer levels, signal and even interference,... It is also possible to detect intruders by means of our networks, something very useful if we think that somebody has decrypted the protection, because it would be a risk for our data's security.

  The software has an interface that is rather dull, due to the fact that it isn't focused towards newbie and less experience users, it centers more on showing data and allowing options than organizing this data so as to look better. Nevertheless, few wireless network management applications can offer the same power as NetStumbler.
